We all know that etiquette is a code of behaviour that must be observed in social life. In a similar way, Netiquette is etiquette for the internet. If we want to make the internet an enjoyable experience we must be respectful to other people on line. Here are some of the Best Rules of Netiquette to bear in mind once you become a member of that wiki :
- The Golden Rule is to treat others the way you would like to be treated.
- Avoid Flaming. Flaming is the use of rude language between internet users when interacting. If you don't agree with someone, it is not a good idea to call him/her names or attack him verbally.
- Avoid presenting other people's ideas as if they are your own. It is a form of cheating. If you use someone's exact words, remember to use "quotation marks" and mention the website source. If you use someone's ideas in your own words, don't forget to give credit to the original source.
- Use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Don't use internet slang like for example "CU" for "See you". It distorts communication.
